2012 Nutmeg Nominee Books are Here!

Voting is closed for the 2011 Nutmeg Books and while we don't know the winner yet, you can start reading the 2012 Nominees!

You can travel with a dragon in The Key to Rondo, travel through a wormhole to a different time in Herbert's Wormhole, or even to Afghanistan in Extra Credit.

You could talk with some ghosts in Deep and Dark and Dangerous or in Dying to Meet You.

Can you solve the puzzles of The Gollywopper Games or solve the mystery of Masterpiece or solve the kidnapping of 2 girls in Stolen Children?

Meet some kids with special powers in Savvy or Signal.

Whatever you choose, you'll want to read all the 2012 Nutmeg Nominee Books!

Calling all book lovers!

Are you looking for a challenge for the New Year?  The Children's Room has instituted a new  reader's award called the Karen Grimes Scholar Award

The Karen Grimes Collection is a special group of classic children's titles that  are part of our literary and cultural heritage.  For this award, you must read either all the picture books (187) for the Junior level award, or 50 chapter books for the regular award.  The program will run for the year of 2011 with the first awards being given out at a gala celebration in early 2012.

If you would rather read than do anything else, this is the program for you!
