New Canaan Library's Authors on Stage program is pleased to present children's author Michelle Knudsen on Sunday, January 21 at 3:00 pm in the Curtis Gallery. Ms. Knudsen has worked in libraries, publishing houses and bookstores. She is the author of 28 to 38 books (depending on whether you count the coloring books) and a handful of published magazine articles. Peter de Seve Visits the Library

New Yorker illustrator (just one of his many artistic accomplishments) Peter de Seve hosted a special event for children at the Library on Sunday, December 3rd. After a quick discussion about what makes a great cover for the magazine, Mr. de Seve had the children create their own designs on actual New Yorker covers.

Nanny Coffee and Tour

On Wednesday, November 29, the librarians at the Children's Room welcomed nannies from 10 different countries and 4 different continents for a nanny coffee and tour. While the adults were given a full tour of the Library and all the wonderful services we offer, the children were attending a special story time. At the conclusion of the event, the nannies were given a New Canaan Library bag filled with library goodies.

Movies and Popcorn at the Library?
You Bet!

By 10:30 this morning, the Library was filled with the smell of hot popcorn. With a generous gift of a real movie theatre popcorn maker from the Friends of the Library, the children's room hosted 41 children for Foolish Frog, Giggle, Giggle Quack and The Wizard. Hope you all had fun. Let us know!

Robert the Guitar Guy


Do we have any budding musicians out there? Do you play the drums, the violin or even the recorder. On Thursday, September 7th at 10:30 am, Robert the Guitar Guy will visit the Library's Lamb Room.
